I’ve been involved in Aussies for
practically my whole life, from being
thrown in pee-wee showmanship with
our first Aussie, Tillie, to 4-H, to junior
showmanship in conformation, agility,
obedience, and very limited stock, and
beyond. In my time in junior
showmanship I’ve been blessed
enough to receive national recognition
in Aussies through ASCA and local
recognition through RRVASC. I
received the Junior Service Award from
ASCA in 2004 – you can read my
nomination letter here.
In 2001, I received the Volunteer of the Year award from RRVASC. I was also featured as the first
Spotlight on Juniors for the ASCA website. I served as the junior chair of the ASCA Junior
Committee for three years. I have also taught and assisted in conformation, obedience, agility, and
puppy classes for our local training club, WWCDTC, for the past six years.
I am currently finishing up my third year of college at Northern Michigan University in Marquette,
Michigan (way up in da UP, eh). I will be graduating in December of 2009 with a major in History
and a minor in Sociology. I hope to eventually pursue my master’s degree in Norse Mythology.
I am planning on becoming an ASCA Breeder Judge as soon as I meet the age requirement, but for
now I am looking forward to judging Junior Showmanship now that I am 21!
My clan includes:
Pulley
Milla
Stache (cat)
Ethel (Boer goat)
Nugget (Russian tortoise)

I am also a dedicated human rights and anti-genocide activist. I
have focused most of my efforts on working to raise awareness
about the genocide in the Darfur region of Sudan, Africa, and
encouraging active involvement in reaching a solution.
I am one of the members in charge of Students Against Silence,
an anti-genocide student organization on Northern Michigan
University's campus. I am also a writer for Northern Michigan
University Political Review, a progressive newspaper on campus,
a member of Progressive Student Round Table, a student group
that promotes progressive ideals on campus, and a member of
Promoters for Non-Violent Peace Resolution, a campus
organization that focuses most of their efforts on the current
situation in Northern Uganda.
I am only one, but I am still one. I cannot do everything, but still I can do something. And because I cannot do everything, I will not refuse to do the something that I can do. ~ Helen Keller ~
